Daisy

I told myself I’d get up with the sunrise

I told myself I’d get up with the sun

And I would be ready – shake sleep from my eyes

Put my feet on the ground put the positive on

Though the morning has chosen to be very chilly

Still the sky is open to letting the warm

Not covering over with clouds or with rainy

Allowing the daisies to follow the sun

And the commuter cars with their tired sighs

Are revving their engines just to outrun

All the shouters and downers who just criticize

Towards the uplift of sunrise and the hope of the sun
